Nursing Advanced Practice Information

The American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and the WV Association of Nurse Anesthetists recognize that anesthesia providers, because of their exposure and the nature of their work, appear to be at a high risk for substance abuse.      To address these concerns the AANA established  Peer Assistance Advisors in every state.

Contact your Peer Assistance Advisor about any concerns you may have about chemical dependency or substance misuse.

Peer Assistance Advisors are available to share their knowledge & resources about the disease of addiction and are dedicated to the well being of all nurse anesthetists.

When you contact a Peer Assistance advisor your call is confidential.    Peer Assistance is a program that focuses on rehabilitation and recovery and offers support without jeopardizing your career.
